Erlabore (EHR-lah-bore) - n . The state in which someone has been working hard on a task, and decides to take a short break. Immediately, their supervisor notices (not knowing that they have been working) and thinks that they have been slacking for much longer than in reality.
Comes from the Latin words "era"(was) and "labor"(work)
" When my boss got mad at me for browsing Oppo instead of filing papers, I told him it was a state of erlabore, but he didn't take it. "

Proxifine (PROX-ih-fyne) - v . When a door is swung along the hinges with the intent of closing, it touches the doorframe, but due to air pressure, refuses to close all the way. This requires extra force to close completely.
Proxifined , Proxifining
Comes from the Latin words "proxime"(near) "finis"(end)
" The door proxifined when I tried to close it, but because I was already 10 feet away, I was too lazy to go back and close it all the way. "

Luminsert (LUM-in-surt) v . When going down the freeway with sun on the side and closely separated trees passing by, a flickering-light effect is made. This is hard to explain. The dummy pronoun it is used.
Luminserted , Luminserting
Comes from the Latin root "lumin"(light) and "incertus"(indecisive)
" It was luminserting for two hours straight on I-95; gave me a migraine. "

"Luminsert" sounds better than what I call that effect from the series of trees lining the roads in Florida, which is "palm strobe".
I dislike palm trees. So much so that I once wrote a poem about it, entitled "I Hate Palm Trees." Ahem.
I think that I shall never see
A palm as lovely as a tree.
Palms that roaches crawl within
Fall over in a gust of wind.
Drop ugly fronds into the street
Afford no shade against the heat.
Still, Tampa highway landscape guys
Adore those palms that I despise.
All along the rights-of-way
They plant those damn things anyway.
